XR Marin had a successful launch as a sponsor of the first ever Art Tech Pavilion at the 67th Sausalito Art Festival 2019. The Sausalito Art Festival is America's premiere waterfront art, music, and wine festival held annually on Labor Day Weekend. Thousands of visitors experienced new media works that are pushing the boundaries of art! Artists showcased works using cutting edge technology as new mediums including: a holographic display, interactive digital imagery, and more! XR Marin introduced many art enthusiasts to virtual reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) as a new medium for art. XR Marin's student interns taught visitors how to create art with Tilt Brush, Google's VR painting tool for VR. Visitors were also wowed by the live painting demonstrations in VR by internationally known new media artists, Kevin Ang and Lisa Padilla. Academy Art University also introduced visitors to the Art of Video Game design and also shared a VR experience created by their students for the Norman Rockwell Museum. This awesome and visionary new media exhibit was wonderfully curated by Lisa Kolb, Creative Director and XR Strategist, Skadaddle. The exhibit also included new media works by artists: Holliday Horton, Nancy Bake, Art + Code Master Zach Lieberman, and a poetic interactive digital work by Liquid Canvas. Visitors experienced new platforms in art created by a whole new generation of artists who use cutting edge technology as a medium for creative expression. Our hats-off to the team at Sausalito Art Festival for an amazing 3-day festival and opening reception! Thank you for including XR Marin in the festival this Labor Day Weekend!!! See how much fun we had sharing XR with new audiences!
